Busy Summer

Well, I thought we were already having a busy summer. Hard to think it is only going to get busier with a move to Nashville! Conrad started his new position yesterday at Schneider Electric. He is so excited and we are so proud of him!

Luckily, we were able to kill two birds with one stone when we went on our planned vacation to Old hickory Lake with my mom, dad, Brittany, Brad, and Rickypoo. The family was great enough to sacrifice a lot of their relaxing time to watch Conrad Patrick while Conrad and I spent nearly everyday house hunting. Our efforts paid off and we found a house in Nolensville, TN. We are really excited about the house and getting to know the area. We should be moving in by the end of this month! Yeah!

We all had a great time at the lake with family. It is always fun when we can ALL get together! I know Conrad Patrick really enjoyed spending time with his Meemers, Pops, Aunt B, Uncle Brad, and "Poo"! The guys got to do a good bit of fishing. Conrad Patrick was not the biggest fan of the boat. He didn't like the life vest at all and spent most of his boat ride trying to pull it off while screaming! He preferred spending his time inside watching, "Buzz and Woody." I am sure the rest of the family could care less about seeing Toy Story or Toy Story 3 ever again!

We also got to go on a mini vacation with our neighbors Dave and Mary two weekends before we went to Nashville. They own a house in the Outer Banks. We had a great time and were excited to see a part of North Carolina that we hadn't been to before. They have a son who is a few months older than Conrad Patrick and Mary is also expecting their second baby this summer. The boys had a great time together. It was a lot of fun getting to watch CP play with another boy his age.

All in all, we have been enjoying ourselves in the midst of all the craziness. The weeks to come will be a whirlwind I am sure. I think we can handle it though :)

It's a BOY!!!

After weeks of grueling anticipation, Conrad and I finally had our ultrasound yesterday. We are so thrilled to let everyone know that the Doctor said the ultrasound could not have looked more perfect. We went in for a Level 2 ultrasound at the hospital to check for a Two Vessel Cord, since I had one last time. So glad to report that we have three vessels this time! Yeah!!! Not that it ended up causing any issue last time, just another thing to worry about and MANY more Doctors appointments.

In an effort to make sure we could get the "money" shot, I woke up a drank a Coke to get the baby moving. (Conrad was none too thrilled about this.) I didn't want to risk a sleeping baby with legs crossed and not moving around. I had to know!!! We went into the ultrasound room and the tech promptly asked if we wanted to know the gender. We, of course, said YES! He put the wand on my stomach and, almost instantly, there our baby BOY was showing off all his glory! The tech laughed and said, "Well, there's your boy!" We are sooo excited for Conrad Patrick to get a little brother. I am happy they will have each other the way I have my sister! It really makes me want to cry...in a good way! Now I just hope I can keep up with them!!!

So Sick and Tired of Being Sick!

Just when we get recovered from the stomach virus, the evil cold strikes our house. Conrad Patrick has been sick since Monday. It started off as a really runny nose. This lead to a cough and now he keeps getting fever. Poor little baby. When he sleeps his little nose gurgles and he is coughing all through the night. Because of his restless nights, he is sleeping until 10 in the morning! I hope he starts feeling better soon! On top of him being sick, I have caught his cold. Taking Benodryl all day does not lead me to be very productive at home, so the little man and I have been getting in lots of cuddles and I have been drinking plenty of hot tea (decaf of course!)

On a lighter note, I have a story. Some people may remember me talking about this when I was pregnant with Conrad Patrick, but here is a recap for those who don't. I was about 13 weeks pregnant and really dying to know the gender of the baby. I couldn't even sleep I was so anxious to know. One day while driving to work, I was sitting at the the light at the Briarcreek intersection. All of a sudden a random baby blue balloon goes floating across the intersection. It was so weird and random, I took it as a sign that we were having a boy. Well, I guess we will get to test my theory again, because I had another random balloon incident on Monday. This time it was floating over the interstate and it was hot pink. I need to note this happened just a day after I told Conrad that I was feeling very strongly that we are having another boy. Three weeks from today we will know!

Keeping Busy

We have had a busy past couple of weeks. I started taking Conrad Patrick to Book Babies and Toddler Time at our library. He is really loving it! We sing songs/rhymes while bouncing and then we read stories and there are usually bubbles at the end. He was so into it this week that when we were reading a story about animals, he kept running in front of the room and making the animal sounds for everyone. He was being quite the ham!

We had quite an interesting weekend as well. Conrad had planned a day of practice for his concealed weapons permit with some friends in Louisburg, which is about an hour away from Raleigh. Conrad Patrick and I were going to go watch our neighbors', Madelyn and Elijah play their final basketball games of the season. Madelyn's was at 9am so at 8:45 we were getting our jackets on to go. I walked downstairs and Conrad walks in the front door holding another neighbors baby and a diaper bag. Conrad started telling me that he heard the sound of loud tricks outside so he went to see what was going on. To his surprise, he saw a firetruck, ambulance, rescue car, and two police cars out side our neighbors house. He walked over and our neighbor came running out of his house looking around. He saw Conrad and asked if he could take care of the baby, their youngest child of four kids. Conrad said of course and quickly learned that their two year old daughter had fallen and was unresponsive. I sent Conrad off with his friends and Conrad Patrick and I tried to keep the baby calm. He was running fever and very confused. I felt so bad for him! Conrad Patrick was really sweet, though, he kept bringing over musical toys and he would set them and the coffee table and press play and look at Nickolai and clap trying to get him to smile! Sooo cute! We eventually got him to eat something and he started to feel better. I was able to get Conrad Patrick down for a nap and Nickolai finally played for about 40 mins before his parents got home. My other neighbor ended up watching their older boys and by early afternoon everyone was home safe and sound. So glad their daughter is OK. She suffered a pretty bad concussion but appears to be on the mend...thank goodness!

As for a pregnancy update, tomorrow I will be 14 weeks. I have been feeling pretty good. I am still getting tired, but that seems to be getting a little better. I am experiencing some pretty bad sciatic nerve pain. I think it is even worse this go around because I am always holding Conrad Patrick. Last Sunday, I barley made it out the door for church and when we got home I was stuck on the couch all day dreading having to get up to go to the bathroom. Thank goodness it isn't like that everyday, but it usually is a struggle to get upstairs at night. I am going to ask the Doctor next week about possibly going to see the chiropractor. I have never been and have mixed feelings about it, so we will see what they say.

Life as of Lately

For my first official blog post, I should start by saying that Conrad and I are so excited about welcoming a second baby to the family in about 28 weeks...CRAZY!!! but exciting! I am 12 weeks along as of today and feeling really good! I am still getting really tired pretty early on in the evenings, but hopefully that will start to trail off pretty soon. I am having a hard time remembering when it ended during my pregnancy with Conrad Patrick. At least I am able to get some rest during the little man's naps this time around. That helps a ton!

We are finally recovered from the stomach virus. That was miserable. now I am having trouble getting Conrad Patrick to eat some of the things he was eating before he was on a diet of only crackers, bread, applesauce and juice for a week. He did eat a bunch of green beans today so that was nice. I am getting a little worried because he was eating a ton of veggies and loving them before. Hopefully he will get back on track with that soon too!

Conrad has been working a lot lately. I am afraid it is only going to get worse in the next few months because his boss is getting ready to go on maternity leave. We have been making good use of our time together with walks and trips to the play ground! He has also been blowing off steam by putting new bumpers on his Jeep. I think what he loves most about having a Jeep is getting to do "stuff" to it. He really seems to enjoy it. He hasn't brewed any beer in a while and I know he is itching to make some soon!

We are also trying to figure out preschool right now. There is a really poplular preschool literally two minutes from our house that we are interested in. Most of our neighbors kids have either gone or go there. Our dilema is this: Conrad Patrick's birthday is a few weeks after the cut off wich means that he would be in a one year old class this year. We just aren't sure if he will really get much out of a class that is geared towrds kids who have just turned one. We are going to observe a class next week. I feel like we will be able to make a better decision after we see the class structure.
